Winsford United are pleased to announce the following signings:

Ryan Hopper

Tell us about you:

‘I started off at Manchester United then moved to Blackburn Rovers both academy sides, I joined Accrington Stanley on a professional deal at 18 making 4 football league appearances, I then went on to Mossley for 2  years then New mills for 3 and a half years both in the evo stick and one year in the north west counties prem with New mills.’

What do you want from this season?

‘I am a footballer who likes to play the right way so I will be looking to get on the ball at every opportunity and create chances for the team, I will also get around the pitch and work hard.

Why Winsford?

‘I want to compete and challenge for trophies both in the league and FA cup and other cup competitions. After speaking to the gaffer and him outlining his plans and knowing the club wanted me last season there was no other club but Winsford United.’

Ducko’s comments:

‘Ryan is a quality player with a wealth of experience even though he is still very young. He moves the ball intelligently and likes to dictate the pace of the game. I watched Ryan a few times last year and he never disappointed. I’m sure he will gel well with the rest of the lads and provide a great asset for the season ahead.’

Brandon Moores

Tell us about last season:

‘I believe that it was a season with a lot of high points and few lows. The cup run was the most obvious high but also our play and form at times was very good. Which I think steams from having a good bunch of lads that are all in it together and get on well.’

What do you want from this season?

‘Hopefully next season we can keep a large proportion of the team, while strengthening and push on and recreate more successes next season. From a personal point of view I would like to keep fit and play as regular as possible and help the team where I can.’

Why Winsford?

‘I have chosen to sign for winsford for the upcoming season because the club and players have a real feeling of togetherness which I have not experienced before at previous Clubs. I hope this continues and that new players arriving buy into the same philosophy and team ethics. I also think that in my first season at winsford as a younger player I was given a chance, which hasnt really happened before, but happens regular with different players here.’

Ducko’s comments:

‘Moorsey is a quality footballer. He is exciting, direct and a nightmare for defenders. The supporters only got a glimpse of what he can do last year so I’m excited to get him firing on all cylinders this season.’

Chris Middleton

Tell us about last season:

‘Disappointing finish, although we could of maybe got a few more points on the board if we had a bit nouse about us. Enjoyed the unbeaten run, played some great football.’

What do you want from this season?

‘I hope that we finish a lot higher than last, will be tough with quite a lot of teams now in the league with big budgets but with some of the players expected to sign for us we should easily better last season.’

Why Winsford?

‘I thoroughly enjoyed my time when I signed last season & again with the lads expected to sign & the ambition of the management team. Having Ducko as the manager is a cherry on top.’

Ducko’s comments:

‘Middy is an old fashioned defender and brings experience to a young side. He is no nonsense and knows what we are looking for. I’m sure this season will be a big season for him..’
