We caught up with Mike Koral to see how he is finding his time at Winsford United so far…
What are your thoughts on the season so far? As a team and personally?
Up and down. We’ve shown flashes of what we can do, especially at the start of the season and then at the start of December with some good results. It’s frustrating as I feel within the team we can match these results on a consistent level but we haven’t quite achieved it yet for whatever reason. On a personal level it’s been equally frustrating due to the injury I’ve suffered with my hamstring and missing a large portion of the season but when I’ve played I feel I’ve done well and hopefully shown the fans what I can do.
What are you hopes for the rest of the season?
For the rest of the season I’m looking for us to get a decent cup run in the league cup and Cheshire cup. Also looking to get that consistency in our performances.
How have you settled in at WUFC?
I’ve settled in well and that was immediate from pre-season. Enjoyment is the main thing for me when playing and I’ve found that again at Winsford and credit for that goes to the management and playing squad.
What are your thoughts of the club so far?
Great club that is fuelled by passionate people off the pitch. The effort that individuals at the club put in on a match day and throughout the week is great to see and the encouragement they give as well as the fans is something that you don’t see often across non-league. This side of it creates a desire to not let them down and put 100% in every week.
How does the club differ from your previous clubs?
It’s hard to compare between the clubs I’ve been at as every one operates differently. However, the fans here are a pleasure to play for and the support they give, whether we are performing well or not is always loyal and encouraging.
Any changing room secrets?
Nope, nothing to report.
