Following an appeal for more people to get directly involved with the club we are pleased to announce two new Board members.
The first is Ray Duckworth, no stranger to Blues supporters as he is the father of current Manager Lee Duckworth. Ray heads the Winsford United Colts setup and has been involved in football for most of his adult life. Secretary Bob Astles said “We are delighted to welcome Ray on board, this is another step in the process of reinforcing the link between the Junior clubs in the town, Ray’s knowledge and experience in Junior football will be a tremendous asset”.
Another great recruit is Rob Cooke who is Ray’s Assistant in the Colt’s setup. Rob is an experienced businessman who has some exciting progressive ideas for taking the club forwards. The club has already reaped the financial benefits of the joint fun day organised by Ray and Rob at the end of July.
Bob Astles said “This has increased the board members to four alongside myself and Mark Loveless but we don’t intend to stop there and no doubt there will be more recruits in the near future. People were telling us which way the club should be taken forward so we threw out the challenge – get directly involved at the sharp end and accept the responsibility of running a semi-professional and ambitious Football club”
