The Blues once again impressed on a plastic surface keeping a clean sheet with two early goals earning them a satisfactory win.
The Line-Up: Michael Langley: Aaron Stott, Kyle Wilding: Dale Jennings, Adam Bayley, Danny Egan: Danny Kerr, Harry Brazel, Kyle Riley, Jordan Johnson, Triallist: Subs: Liam Newman Liam Collins Robbie Hatton, James Dean, Myles Wady.
Winsford got off to a crackerjack start with Kyle Riley hitting the bar before Dale Jennings gave them an eighth minute lead. Newcomer Danny Kerr was the provider, threading a perfectly weighted ball for Jennings to run on to and control before sliding the ball under the advancing goalkeeper.
It took just two minutes to add to the score, Kerr once again the provider releasing a Triallist who drove the ball past the goalkeeper and into the far corner of the net.
The Blues continued to pile on the pressure throughout the match and it was only when tired legs were evident late in the second period that goalkeeper Michael Langley was seriously tested.
It was good to see Liam Newman back in the Royal Blue shirt but he is still some way off full match fitness. What a bonus it would be if he could return to the goal-scoring form he showed in 2010/2011 when he scored 18 goals in 36 appearances.
Stars on the day were Adam Bayley and Michael Langley with the former just getting the nod as Man-of-the-Match.
Second Half Replacements: James Dean for Jordan Johnson (46) Liam Collins for Dale Jennings (46) Liam Newman for Kyle Riley (54) Myles Wady for Triallist (54) Robbie Hatton for Danny Kerr (63).
There will be a headache for the Manager with 37 players registered and quality players including Danny Hudson, Ryan Mellor, Scott Taylor, James Rothwell and Liam Baker returning to the reckoning.
